Fountain

First painting from Rome!!!! Mostly I've been working on more involved projects, not one-shots like this, but this was a little "exploring the city" project.
It was actually super dumb and I was very un-jazzed about it but I managed to turn it into something I was interested in drawing. It seems like when I'm drawing something I don't really want to do, I just stick it in this crazy rococo garden and then I'm instantly engaged.

I need to experiment more.

anyway, based (LOOSELY) off the Turtle Fountain, which I found VERY awkward. This is a little idealised futuristic speculation, inspired by the different layers of history in this fountain. The original, the addition of the turtles, the theft of the turtle and subsequent replacement with copies... you get the gist. So this is if all the humans disappeared and the earth reverted, and the fountain became a little oasis of sorts.
