Hey guys-

So I frequently come to you for help and I SO INFREQUENTLY repay it haha.  BUT!  Today I have two exciting tidbits, both in response to prior "HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME" journals.

First: the Watching You script!  The last one is debunked, but here is a wonderful snazzy new one.  Dev_User_Inf by Dediggefedde  Basically this is a script that tells you when another deviant is watching you.  Very very helpful.

Second: the suit book!  Thank you :iconjonbronx: !!!  It is called "Garment Construction: Jacket and Pants" and it's by John Watkiss.  The book is sadly out of print, but if you, like me, were in it to find the artist, I strongly suggest you take a minute to familiarize yourself with his work.  It's fantastic.

Thanks as always for all your help everyone; hope these resources can be helpful to some of you!

<edit> couldn't get the link to work right unless I put it without anything after it?  Weird.  Here it is!  johnwatkiss.blogspot.com/2007/…

I met John Watkiss at Disney, while we were both working on Tarzan. He seemed like a nice guy, very English in that he would dress (almost) formal for work and do these HUGE paintings. I had never heard of him before, but his huge paintings were all over the hall ways. The artist I was with took me to him like it was a highlight of the tour and a big honor so I took notice and straightened up. I quickly learned the guy could draw ANYTHING- and paint it just as well! The thing with him (which is good for him, but bad for us) is he knows his VALUE. His art books are very expensive. I'd say too expensive, just because they don't compete with the others out there. More would know and learn of/from him if he was a little more assessable. And, yes, I walked away with a sketchbook page of a Tarzan drawing from him. Momma didn't raise no dumb boys! (Actually, its a spread, they guy can NOT draw small!)

Hahahaha so I've gathered!!! And you can just tell by looking at his work at the scale, none of it's noodly and it's made up entirely of these fatty expressive confident lines. Unfortunately I've never seen any of his work in person but there's a fair amount about. I think my favorite part of your story is that he got dressed up for work! THAT MAKES ME SO PLEASED! I've always wanted to wear a "suit" to "work" since I was a little kid. Regrettably I am now...a freelance illustrator hahaha oh well.

I by chance picked up a John Watkiss book while at my local artbook seller and I'm soooo glad I did. The book is part of Ashley Wood's 'Sparrow' series, there's a ton of great artists in that collection but Watkiss' is by far my favourite.

I had no idea he did a suit-porn book, shame you can't get it anymore.
