Ron and Hermione, sharing a dramatically lit smooch.

basically this was me practicing drawing kisses (cause i suck) and then liking it enough too color it, and i really enjoyed doing that gradient thing for my hagrid and harry piece so i essentially did the same thing just with color. this is all done with gradients and the fill bucket, and i'm actually quite pleased at the result!
the only thing i'm NOT pleased about is how much detail was lost on the facial shading when i put in the main light source. here's a [link] to the shadowless version.
a few hours in photoshop, with dinner in between.
<edit 10/14> colored herm's boob and lineart because i felt weird that this was my most fave'd deviation but it had so many faults...yuch. </edit>
Although I'm not a 100% fan of this pairing (I have to deal with it though, since it's canon. It's growing on me day-by-day)...this pic looks gorgeous. The shadows set the theme and setting quite nicely.
Apart from how much I love how her nose kinda smooshes against him and bends up (that just looks so cute), her hair is gorgeous. I love how you colored it to show her curls and such. Very nice job, and warm fuzzies all around.

One of my professor tells me that kissing is one of the hardest poses to draw and I think you pulled it off pretty well. Maybe the more angled the kiss is, the harder it gets...
yeah well it's hard enough to draw ONE person's funkily angled face but you've got to make it fit into another one, too! this is the first decent kiss i've ever drawn and i used a reference!
thank you
No sweat a about the reference. It's better to use it then make it seemed out of perspective. The same professor I had mentioned earlier said that if you draw a kiss wrong, it could look like the couple is trying to eat each other up like cannibals lol!
omg i have a killer scanner (actually it's my dad's) it's an Epson Perfection 4490 Photo, and i usually just use the default settings. i had to tweak this one a little bit (i just brought down the brightness) because the paper fit right in and it was too light and i lost some detail. but adjusting the brightness took care of it!
haha her nose was totally unintentional- i actually just picture her with that nose (you can see in my other hermione drawings) but now that you point it out it DOES look like that- how cute!
thank you very much!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
