I've been looking at a lot of old playboy cartoonists from the 50's and 60's godDAMN that stuff was good.

Blowing off some steam with fanart, as usual. Sorry my posts have been sort of anti-climactic lately, soon enough I'll be able to share some real work.

Watercolor and Gouache.

She looks as young as I picture and damn aren't the colours a great contrast against the Valyrin beauty!

I'm with you 100% Old pinup stuff is where it's at. Who in particular are you a fan of, just curious! In any event, the image is gorgeous and subtle. I appreciate your willingness to hide some of the sexuality of this image in dark earth tones like you are. Beautiful work, man. It shows a lot of skill. :+fav:

I think proabaly Erich Sokol was my most specific influence for this one- I also HUGELY admire Jack Cole and a number of others.

Ahhhhhh Sokol! YES!! That man is crazy good. I just expanded my inspiration folder of his works the other day. :) It's nice to hear you deliberately naming your influences rather than pretending like you have none. They are to be embraced, after all. The thing that gets me about those guys' work is their economy. Everything they do is so simple and effective.

The way you used light is absolutely gorgeous.

I must ask, any connection to Dance with Dragons?

Thank you!

Not specifically. I just love imagining her in her happy place, but this is probably pre-ADWD.
